Stars Defend Jessica Simpson's Weight Gain

Jessica Simpson can count on the support of her peers over the intense scrutiny about her recent weight gain.

The country singer was snapped looking much curvier than usual as she performed at a Chilli cook-off in Pembroke Pines, Florida this past weekend.

And now, after being dealt a crushing blow from the media for looking "fat", Kim Kardashian, Miley Cyrus and Jess' sister Ashlee Simpson are all rallying round to defend her new figure. 

Kim told People, "Call me crazy, but when I saw the picture, I was like, 'Oh my God, Jessica looks hot!'

"I get that she does look curvier, but to me, there's nothing wrong it."

Meanwhile Miley told reporters, "I don't think she's fat."

And Jess' sister Ashlee also wrote a lengthy essay on her personal blog calling the criticisms "disgusting."

She said, "All women come in different shapes, sizes, and forms and just because you're a celebrity, there shouldn't be a different standard."
