Britney Spears broke bread with the Kevin Federline at a family barbecue this weekend, according to reports.

The former couple - who had a messy divorce in 2006 - were forced to play nice for a few hours on Sunday after Brit's father Jamie extended an open invitation to her ex.

According to People magazine Kevin - who has full custody of their two sons Jayden James and Sean Preston - dropped by the singer's new pad in The Valley to pick up the boys.

But ended up staying for almost five hours after Jamie convinced the wannabe rapper he should stay and have some food. 

K-Fed and Britney's niceties come only weeks after the pop star reportedly asked her children to spy on dad's new girlfriend.
