The couple - who have had an on/off relationship - have not been snapped together since their New Year jaunt to Mexico, lending credence to reports that the pair have hit another rocky patch.

John arrived solo in Los Angeles airport yesterday and was looking very sombre indeed.

However, while waiting for the elevator he managed to crack a small smile before heading to his awaiting limousine.
