Robert Pattinson says that occasionally he wonders why he even bothers with acting.

The teen heartthrob - who is currently riding the waves of his success as Edward Cullen in vampire flick Twilight - confesses that sometimes he has doubts about his profession.

Rob says, "Sometimes I think, 'To hell with acting,' and then I realize I could be working at a shoe shop.

"Acting is much cooler."

If Rob ever does tire of being a Hollywood heartthrob, he can always pursue a career in music.

Rob told the Los Angeles Times, "Music is my back-up plan if acting fails. I don't want to put all my eggs in one basket."
