Boy George has been jailed for 15 months for falsely imprisoning a male escort at his East London home.

The former Culture Club frontman - real name George O'Dowd - was convicted in December of chaining Norwegian Audun Carlsen to a hook in a bedroom in April 2007 after suspecting the escort of tampering with his computer.

The 47-year-old singer denied the charge and claimed he lawfully detained Carlsen for stealing photos from his laptop.

The star was sentenced to 15 months behind bars at a hearing at London's Snaresbrook Crown Court on Friday.
