George Clooney is so excited about Barack Obama's inauguration that he has touched down in Washington D.C a full week ahead of the ceremony to mark the start of the new President's term of office. 

The Oceans Eleven star looked thrilled to be in the capital as he beamed for the cameras at the airport yesterday and signed autographs before getting a police escort to his car.

The actor is scheduled to appear at the Newseum - where the inauguration will be held next Tuesday - on January 26, so it looks like George will be in Washington for almost two weeks!

We hope Mr Clooney smartens up his appearance by then - he turned up wearing a very old-looking pair of filthy boots.
