Mickey Rourke is using his career resurgence as a platform to campaign on behalf of the world's pooches - asking pet owners to 'Have the Cojones to Fix Your Dog.'
The Wrestler star - who acknowledged his beloved Chihuahuas in his Best Actor acceptance speech at the Golden Globes on Sunday - was so moved when he learned about the "companion animal overpopulation crisis" that he jumped at the chance to front a new crusade to spay and neuter pets.

In the new PETA ad, the actor appears in his trademark sunglasses and holding his canine sidekick, Jaws, next to a caption that reads, "When dogs get knocked up, puppies get put down because there aren't enough homes for them."
Mickey says, "I think if the public is more aware of fixing their animals, of not going to the puppy store - which I have been guilty of - they wouldn't be putting so many dogs to death each week."
