Robert Pattinson says he modelled himself on James Dean whilst filming scenes for vampire flick Twilight.

The newly-appointed Hollywood hearthrob drew on the Rebel Without A Cause's on-screen charisma for his part as vampire Edward Cullen in the blockbuster hit.

Robert says, "I tried copying James Dean's accent just because I've always wanted James Dean's voice.

"I think that is why it has worked. Everyone loves a bit of James Dean."

Rob recently dropped out of an independent film to focus on filming Twilight sequel New Moon.
