Robert Pattinson needs to wash his mouth out with soap if this account of his pre-fame pick up technique is anything to go by.

The Twilight star - who insists he is hopeless when it comes to wooing the opposite sex - is said to have taken a less-than-gentlemanly approach to chatting up girls before becoming a Hollywood heartthrob.

While out in L.A one night before Twilight hit cinemas and catapulted him onto the A-list, Rob reportedly made his move on an American lass but she seemed less than impressed at what he had to say.

“She just stared at him, blankly,” a source tells NY Daily News.

Rob then reportedly said, “If I could, I’d have a — on the inside of my elbow so I could lick it all day long.”
