Angelina Jolie treated fans to a glimpse of her svelte figure in a sexy eggshell gown slashed to the thigh last night - but her face was looking slightly less picture-perfect.

Just six months after giving birth to twins, the Wanted star looked in better shape than ever at the Critics Choice Awards in L.A.

But up close it was a different story - the actress' looked tired and gaunt as she smiled for the cameras.

And, although the star's legs appeared flawless from a distance, her slashed dress revealed a fierce-looking bruise around her knee.

So do her pins and toned physique make up for her gaunt appearance around her face?
