Tom Cruise has spoken out about the death of his good friend John Travolta's son, describing the situation as "horrific".
When asked about the tragic events, which unfolded last Friday in the Bahamas, the Valkyrie star was bearly able to speak about the death of 16-year-old Jett.
"I remember Jett when he was born," Tom told presenters on US daytime chat show The View.
"I saw him when he was just a few months old and John just adored him, and both of his children, and wife Kelly [Preston].
"I just don't have the words for it.
"It's just horrific. Here you have a man, both of them doting parents, they're wonderful people and…"
Tom also defended his and John's Scientology views, saying that their religion does not discourage the use of medicine.
He said, "That's just not true.
"They say, 'Get your physical, get your medication, get your physical illnesses handled.'"
A private service was held for Jett in the home of the Travolta's, yesterday.
