Survivors of Hurricane Katrina have moved into six newly built homes in New Orleans - paid for by caring Hollywood couple Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

The couple set up the Make It Right foundation with £3.5 million of their own money following the tragic devastation that swept New Orleans in 2005.

They will reportedly continue to build over 150 more eco-friendly properties in the area in the hope to re-house people affected by the hurricane.

Brad told the Mirror, "You have no idea what a high it is for me to see the delight on these people's faces when they see how these homes work."

The couple also told reporters in late 2008 that they plan on settling in New Orleans because it feels like home.

Angelina said, “They love the school and their friends here. Most of all they love Verti Marte.

"Their favourite thing to do is go down there. But for all of us, we just come here and feel at home."

She added, “We’ve made some great friends. This is the place we feel combines all the culture we love."
