Britney Spears has won out over Angelina Jolie as the most publicised celebrity of 2008.

The pop princess has topped the annual Celebrity Heat Index compiled by USA Today, which measures how much exposure a star receives in the media.

This is the second year running that Britney has topped the chart as most exposed star on the planet.

Hot on her heels in second place is Angelina Jolie who won't be feeling too sad about losing out to Britney as she triumphs over Jennifer Aniston, who came third.

Others on the list include Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise, and Jamie Lynn Spears.

Meanwhile the hottest breakthroughs on the list are Twilight hunk Robert Pattinson and Gossip Girl Blake Lively.
