The Democrat clinched an historic victory over Republican candidate John McCain on November 5 to become the first African-American President of the United States - and he got your vote in overwhelming numbers too.

Jennifer Aniston came in second place for coming out fighting after being pitted unfavourably against former husband Brad Pitt and current partner Angelina Jolie.

And her arch nemisis Angelina beat off competition from Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' daughter Suri, and Britney Spears' father Jamie, to clinch third place in our poll.
