Beyonce Knowles has beaten off other young high-earners including Justin Timberlake and Miley Cyrus to be named as the richest star under 30.

Jay-Z's missus, 27, topped the list of wealthy young celebrities compiled by Forbes magazine, with an estimated $80 million (£55 million) in the bank.

Pop superstar Justin Timberlake, 27, came second with earnings of $43 million (£30 million), followed closely by U.S. basketball player Kobe Bryant with $39 million (£26.8 million).

Miley comes in at No.9 with a respectable $25.1 million (£17.2 million) in her piggy bank.
