John Mayer Takes Credit For Jennifer Aniston's Obama Cake

John Mayer is still playing the joker, this time claiming that he and girlfriend Jennifer Aniston are in couples counselling after she took all the credit for a cake that they baked together.

During her recent appearance on Oprah Winfrey's talk show to promote new flick Marley & Me, Jennifer proudly showed off photos of a patriotic cake she said she made for an election night party.

But John - who is a keen baker - insists the sweet treat was a combined effort.

He says, "Jen and I made that cake together...She didn't really give me any credit for that cake. I was the architect on that cake. I put a lot of my time in designing that cake.

"I was a good man...shared the process. From mixing to frosting...(and she) took all the credit."

What a wag, eh?

The rocker jokes that Jen's cake claims have sent the couple to counselling.

He tells U.S. news show Extra, "There's some trouble but we're getting over it...We're having therapy everyday in Brentwood...and we're figuring this out because that was my time to shine on Oprah."

There's only one way to solve this - we demand a live bake-off!
