Jennifer Aniston has forgiven on-again boyfriend John Mayer for his remarks to the paparazzi about their relationship.

The Friends actress insists that – although it upset her at the time – she isn't holding anything against John because she deeply cares for him.

John shocked both Jen and her fans with his blasé comments about their split two months ago when he told reporters, "I don't want to waste somebody's time if something's not right."

Jen, however, has leapt to John's defense, telling US Vogue, "He had to put that out there that he broke up with me.

“And especially because it's me. It's not just some girl he’s dating. I get it. We're human. But I feel seriously protective of him and us."

She added, “There was no malicious intent. I deeply, deeply care about him; we talk, we adore one another. And that's where it is.”

But John may think twice before running his mouth off to the press in the future.

“Trust me, you'll never see that happen again from that man," assures Jen.
