Hundreds of Japanese people turned out to celebrate Barack Obama's victory in his namesake town of Obama.
Supporters joined hands chanting 'Obama' as the results of the election appeared on giant television screens.
Other supporters performed a Hawaiian hula dance in honour of the Presidential candidate's success.
Whilst on Japanese TV an Obama impersonator joined presenters for their election coverage.
Election fever swept the world as Obama made history as the U.S' first African-American President.
