Lara Flynn Boyle was almost unrecognisable as she made a rare red carpet appearance at the weekend.

The one-time beauty appears to have lost her youthful looks in dramatic fashion - despite some not-so-subtle surgical attempts to stave off the ravages of time.

With her puffy face, sun-damaged skin and ridiculously plump top lip, the actress looked far older than her 38 years.

Lara - best known for her sexy appearance in Twin Peaks - arrived at the 30th Anniversary Carousel of Hope for children's diabetes on Sunday, where she insisting on posing for the cameras sans shoes.
