Angelina Jolie has hinted that marriage is definitely on the cards for her and partner Brad Pitt.

Speaking to an Italian publication, the actress said she worries that someday her children will start asking questions about why their parents haven't tied the knot.

Angelina tells Italian Vanity Fair, "Usually people fall in love and everything revolves around the ritual of marriage, children are an afterthought. We did everything backwards.

"But sooner or later it will be the kids who ask us to get married. You know, they see films and start asking questions. Such as, "Why are Shrek and Fiona married and you're not?'"

The Changeling star recently admitted that she and Brad fell in love on the set of Mr & Mrs Smith, while Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston.
