Britney Spears' trial is in deadlock after jurors failed to reach a unanimous decision.

The pop princess faces charges for driving without a valid California licence, after she was caught on camera in a hit and run – which she was later cleared of.

After much deliberation, the jurors are apparently feeling a little confused about which verdict they should reach.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge James Steele said to the panel, "I'm going to ask you to make another attempt to resolve whatever differences you have."

Britney's father Jamie told an LA judge a few days ago that Britney should be cleared of all charges because she has never permanently lived in California.

He added that she had resided in LA for a long period of time because of her sons, Jayden James and Sean Preston.
