Madonna's bosom buddy Gwyneth Paltrow has declared that she is going to be there to hold the singer's hand through her messy divorce.

Gwyneth – who is a longtime friend of the queen of pop – is now stepping up to help Madge through a very difficult time, as her 8 year marriage to Guy Ritchie ends.

Gwyneth tells the Daily Mail, “She's a very dear friend. I support her in all the ways I can. I'm just here for her and on the other end of the phone. I speak to her a lot.”

Madonna's rep Liz Rosenberg recently released a statement saying that she was unwilling to comment on their divorce at this stage.

She said, "I will not be commenting on the various reports regarding the divorce or of the settlement which has not been finalised."
