Britney Spears is set to move back to her home state of Louisiana, according to her dad.

Jamie Spears' announced the news in court whilst defending his daughter against charges of possessing an invalid California driver's licence.

Daddy Spears told an LA judge that the pop princess would be moving away from Los Angeles and returning home to be nearer her family.

The Daily Star quotes Jamie as saying that, “there’s plans right now” for a move and insists his daughter didn't break any rules because California isn't her permanent place of residence.

Jamie insists that his daughter only stayed in LA because of her children, telling the court, “We’re here with her kids. We have visitation rights.”

Life & Style recently reported that Britney's Beverly Hills mansion is on the market as “it has too many bad memories.”
