Katie Holmes arrived at the opening night of Broadway play All My Sons to face a group of protesters who wanted to 'save' the actress from the principles of Scientology.

The Dawson's Creek star was met with applause and adoration from both her fans and hubby Tom Cruise - and a peaceful protest from an anti-Scientology group.

Protesters held up signs that read 'Save Katie and Suri. Keep Tom.'

But Katie seemed unfazed by this element of the crowd as arrived for her opeining night performance in the sold-out Arther Miller play.

She then later toasted her success at the opening night afterparty held at E-Space in New York.

Now Katie just has to wait for the money to role in - All My Sons has been the highest-grossing play on Broadway.

See Katie's debut performance last night
