Women everywhere will be jumping for joy at the news that Gerard Butler is not enjoying a secret romance with Jennifer Aniston.

Gerard told a U.S. website that the rumours about a relationship with Jen are a complete fabrication, based on a brief conversation the pair had at the Toronto Film Festival.

Gerard told E!, "Absolutely nothing is going on.

"This came from a seven-minute conversation that we had at the Toronto Film Festival at a big party, and the next minute it's in all the papers."

Maybe he just isn't Jen's type having recently joked to Access Hollywood: "I'm just a sweet boy who likes to stay home and read books."
