Britney Spears was "shocked" by her recent hat-trick of awards at the VMAs - because she's done far better videos during her career.

The pop star picked up three gongs for last year's Piece of Me promo at the MTV Video Music Awards earlier this month, including the top honour of Video of The Year.

And Britney was as surprised as everyone else by her hefty awards haul.

"It's a cool video, but I think, by far, I've done videos that are way better, so I was really shocked that it got the award,” she says.

"It was just inspiring, though, because now, going forward with the videos that I'm doing now, I can really go there and do something crazy and see what happens."

The star was a guest on New York's Z100 radio station on Monday morning to thank fans for their support of new record Womanizer.

When she was asked about the possibility of forthcoming concert dates, she gushed a tour is "definitely planned.

"Definitely next year and probably around the world," she said.

The singer’s last world trek ended in disaster when she had to scrap dates following a knee injury.
