The Britney Spears comeback machine has gone from full throttle to a screeching halt as record bosses announce that new single Womanizer will be kept under-wraps a little while longer.
The troubled singer's label Jive Records has decided that after a poor reaction from fans to last week's video leak, her comeback record needs more work.
A source tells The Sun, “The label held the song back to make it as good as possible.”
The pop princess seemed ready to take on the world at the Video Music Awards, but it seems we're going to have to wait to see whether her new music matches up to the new, improved image.
Still, U.K. fans will be pleased to learn that our favourite former pop wreck has been confirmed to take centre stage in a face off with the X Factor judges this winter.
We can't wait!
