The Desperate Housewives are back looking leggier and lovelier than ever in a set of new 50s-inspired pictures.

Giving airbrushed Britney a run for her money, the ladies have posed for the cover of U.S. TV Guide dressed in skimpy retro outfits to promote the new series.

The fifth season of the hit show - starring Terri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman and Marcia Cross -  will pick up the Wisteria Lane residents' story five years after the last series left off.

Since we last saw them, Gabriel Solis has become a dowdy mother, Susan Mayer is no longer with hunky Mike and Lynette Scavo is having trouble keeping tabs on her children who are now running an illegal casino.

In the meantime, the girls seem to be having a blast revisiting the past...
