Britney Spears has put her L.A. mansion up for sale so she can move to a quieter area to raise her two children.

The Piece Of Me singer's pad is on the market for $7.9 million, while she hunts for a new home that will give her more privacy and space to raise her sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

Britney - who has lived in the gated community for less than 2 years - was staying at the residence when she was hospitalised twice earlier this year - bad memories that she is no doubt keen to leave behind.

The star’s father Jamie reportedly thinks that it would be better for Britney to be in a less busy neighbourhood and somewhere closer to "parks and recreation areas" for her kids.

Since the singer has no control over her finances, her dad sought permission from the courts to sell up.

Her pad boasts six bedrooms, six-and-a-half bathrooms, three garages, a library, media room and a maid's quarters.

Lets hope the move marks a fresh start for Britney.
