Lynne Spears' much-hyped memoir promises to lift the lid on the crisis-hit lives of her famous daughters Britney and Jamie Lynn - and the 'revelations' continue to leak ahead of its release.

Here's a taster of what Lynne has to say about her youngest and her "brave little girl who sang to the skies so long ago.” That's Britney, we think.

Lynne on Brit’s Fame

According to the AP, Lynne denies that she pushed her daughter into the limelight, insisting that Britney was always focused on fame and would constantly practice to the music of Madonna, Whitney Houston and others.

She claims that she lost control of her daughter when Brit posed semi-naked on the cover of Rolling Stone in 1999.

Lynne on Brit’s Breakdown

Lynne expresses her "shock and dismay" over her daughter's infamous head-shaving incident and her very brief and highly publicized marriages to Jason Alexander and Kevin Federline.

She writes that she was distraught after then-manager Sam Lufti told her he was grinding pills and putting them in Britney's food, hoping to induce a coma that would enable doctors to cure her of all addictions.

She calls her daughter's two hospitalizations this year a "turning point."

Lynne on Jamie-Lynn’s Pregnancy

She writes that she felt "punched in the stomach" when she learned that Jamie Lynn Spears was pregnant at just 16 but, nonetheless, still sold the story to OK! magazine for $1 million.

Lynne on Brit As A Mother

Lynne writes that her eldest daughter is “an amazing mother," but only when at her best.
