Britney Spears may have to put her comeback on hold as she faces going to court for driving without a legitimate license.

The Toxic singer was found in possession of an invalid out-of-state license when she was questioned by police over an accident she caused last year.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge James A. Steele has rescheduled the decision about Britney's trial for for September 16.

Coincidentally, the same day Lynne Spears' memoir, Through the Storm: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World, is due out.

Britney's attorney Michael Flanagan said he felt his client was being singled out because of her celebrity status and plans to appeal if she is taken to court.
