Zac Efron wants to follow in the footsteps of idol John Travolta and star a remake of the hit 70s musical Grease.
Despite wanting to tackle more adult roles, it seems that the actor – who shot to fame as Troy in the High School Musical movie franchise – is happy to stick with musicals for now.
If the chance to star in an updated version of Grease, he says, "If John was involved I'd do it. But without his consent there's no way I could ever attempt a role like that.
“That's too hard, he's just too cool. He's a stud!"
Zac – who stared opposite Travolta in 2007 musical Hairspray – adds, "I love musicals! I've noticed that various movie studios want to get involved with making musicals and I think it's great.
“They're making a comeback and so I think there should be more in the pipeline. Any time there's a musical, I'm up for being on board. It's fun."
