Ashlee Simpson Denies Baby Weight Obsession

Ashlee Simpson has spoken out against claims that she is desperate to shed her baby weight and drop to a tiny size zero.

The singer insists that the health of her baby is her most important concern, despite The National Enquirer newspaper attacking Ashlee for buying several pairs of size zero jeans from LA store Planet Blue to motivate her to lose her baby bulge.

Mum-to-be Ashlee shot down reports that she had apparently broken down in tears after learning she had gained more weight than is considered healthy by posting on her official MySpace blog.

She writes:

"Carrying a child is the most inspiring, emotional, amazing experience of my life. My weight and my pant size are the absolute last thing I am concerned about,” she adds.

"I am only concerned with having a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby.”

“People who talk and judge pregnant women's weight need to get a life!!!"

The Simpson sister and Fall Out Boy star Pete Wentz are said to be expecting their first child in October.
