Hilary Duff’s dad Bob Duff has been sentenced to prison for 10 days after being held in contempt of court at a hearing about his daughter’s birthday.

The millionaire was dragged away in hand cuffs on Wednesday after Susan Duff, mother to sisters Hilary and Haylie, took him to court.

The stars’ mother wanted a lump sum of $25,000 for her daughter’s upcoming 21st birthday present and party. Perhaps in an attempt to cast her in the social ranks of Paris Hilton?

Judge Thomas Stansbury demanded Bob $12,500 to Susan for the celebrations and then went on to hold him in contempt of court for violating an injunction against selling assets without court approval.

Both sisters avoided the court hearing like a plague, staying away from the ex-marital feud.

Who wants to be caught in the middle of a row as ugly as that?

it's sad to hear about this, but at least hilary's mom is fighting for her daughters, and only wants the best for them. for those of you thinking hilary should buy her own gifts and throw her own party, why would ANYONE do that?! do YOU buy your own gifts? No matter how rich you are, when you're in the business, parents always buy you gifts. and when your parents have money, THEY throw the children parties. hilary's father has the money, he owns a chain of convenience stores in texas! duh! this
