Jennifer Lopez is helping to develop her 2002 movie Maid In Manhattan into a TV series.

The romantic comedy will be transitioned onto the small screen through network ABC.

However, the new mother will not star in the show, but instead position herself as executive producer, overseeing the production and script.

The show will mirror the plot of the big screen version, with a struggling maid working at a luxurious New York hotel, but it will feature an entirely different character.

Writer Chad Hodge tells the Hollywood Reporter: "The show is a different maid in a different Manhattan. She (Lopez) will be very integral in the pilot and series."
