Britney Spears has impressed her legions of fans and critics by filming a promotional video with Russell Brand for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.
Having made a fool of herself at 2007’s VMA awards with a dismal performance of Gimme More, the recovering pop wreck put embarrassment aside in the promo which also features rapper LL Cool J, and Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz.
Looking tanned in a black dress, this’s year event host Russell admitted his attraction to the star, making a joke about the sexual tension, to which Spears replies: "I don't feel the tension."
Britney is nominated for two awards at the ceremony - Best Female and Best Pop Video categories, for her track Piece of Me.
However, it is unknown whether Spears will be given a second chance to hit the stage for a performance.
The MTV VMAs show is set to air in the U.S. on 7 September.
