After successful surgery on his arm, elbow and shoulder, Morgan Freeman has been discharged from hospital and is recovering from a serious weekend car crash at his home in Mississippi.
The severity of Morgan’s crash became apparent when he was airlifted to hospital in Memphis Tennessee on Sunday night, after losing control of his vehicle on the highway in Charleston.
Kathy Stringer, a spokeswoman for The Med, said the Dark Knight actor was discharged on Thursday after undergoing surgery, but gave no further details.
The 71-year-old Oscar winner was said to be "in good spirits" on Monday when he arrived at the hospital before his surgery took place, repairing a broken arm, broken elbow and shoulder damage.
He will be required to wear a neck brace for six to eight months, according to his attorney and business partner Bull Luckett.
Luckett adds: "The doctors have said it will be six months to a year before he plays golf again. He hates that."
Freeman's passenger, Demaris Meyer, whose relationship to the actor is unknown, has reportedly suffered only minor injuries in the accident.
