Madonna's surgically-enhanced face represents the modern ideal of beauty, according to a new report.

With her smooth forehead, plumped cheekbones and taught skin, the singer is used as an example of how new developments in cosmetic enhancement are helping ageing A-listers turn back the clock.

Other stars that supposedly fit the ideal are Demi Moore, Michelle Pfeiffer, Liz Hurley and Naomi Campbel, with the much younger Olsen twins possessing a 'starter version' of the look.

The report suggests the key to a youthful appearance is volume – that is, wide, high cheekbones, achieved by injections rather than invasive surgery.
