Jon Voight has been trying desperately to patch things up with his daughter Angelina Jolie, and has reportedly started by sending his new grandchildren Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline a stack of welcoming gifts.

The movie-director has been estranged from Angelina after accusing her of having “serious emotional problems”, but has since been trying to rekindle their relationship.

In a bid to get back into his daughter’s good books, Jon sent his grandchildren some presents which were airlifted to France especially. A source tells Showbiz Spy: “The gift baskets contained products from Bunnies by the Bay: their blankets, outfits, bibs, toys and bunnies.”

But he didn’t sign the accompanying note “from pop pop”. Instead, it is said to have read "Dear Vivienne and Knox — Bienvenue! xx JV."
