Zac Efron Wants To Put High School Musical Days Behind Him

Zac Efron has no regrets about graduating from the High School Musical franchise that made his name.

The actor will revisit the character of Troy for the last time in High School Musical 3: Senior Year, to be released later this year.

And it seems that the 20-year-old can't wait to shake off his clean-cut image.

“I'm looking for something new and exciting to do. I want to do something dark or a comedy,” he says of his post-HSM plans.

“There's tons of icons that I would love to work with on something new and exciting."

He's also hoping his newly-buff physique will help him land more adult roles.

He tells the Daily Star, “I want people to see that I have grown up and moved on. This will sadly be the last time we are all together,

“I know for sure – and I need a new start.”

  • I love High School Musical, and I love Zac Efron--and I think it's a smart move on his part to let HSM3 be his last HSM movie. I mean, just because he wants his future roles to be more mature, that doesn't mean that he isn't thankful for HSM and what it has done for his career. As an actor, it would be completely stupid of him to stick with one role that would lead to type-casting, thus basically ruining his hopes for a long-lasting career. I think he is talented and will go far post-HSM!

  • zac efron just wants a chnage becoz hsm is for children and he wants to be noticed as a more mature adult and theres nuffin rong wit dat, all these ppl calling him names are just jealous.... and he wants to do new things meet and act wit new ppl, i bet hes bored wit the same ppl in a gd way not horrible way.xx so just leave him alone
