Nick Jonas and Selena Gomez may have slipped up when it comes to their insistence they are 'just good friends.'

The pair have so far denied reports they are an item – but eagle-eyed fans reckon they've uncovered the truth.

The Disney-approved stars may have outed their own relationship by telling the same story in two separate interviews.

Selena told US magazine Twist:

While we were slow dancing...my crush and I had our first kiss! And after it, I leaned back and I said, 'You cheated.' And he said, 'Why' and I said, 'I don't kiss on the first date.' Then he said, 'Well, I never really play by the rules.''

 Whilst Nick related a strikingly similar account to Girls' Life magazine:

On one date, the girl said to me, 'I don't kiss on the first date.' So I said, 'I don't follow the rules.'
