Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt's Last Minute Baby Name Change

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's new son Knox Leon reportedly came extremely close to being named Rex.

The latest additions to the Brangelina brood - Knox and twin sister Vivienne Marcheline – arrived on Saturday.

And it's claimed that Knox was very nearly Rex.

According to the New York Daily News, the expectant couple ordered an embroidered play mat for 'Rex Leon Jolie Pitt' shortly before the birth.

Knox was the middle name of Pitt’s grandfather, and also ends in the letter X which is in keeping with older brothers Maddox and Pax.

Vivienne derives from the French version of the ancient Latin name which means alive.

As for the middle names, Leon is the monkier of Jolie’s great-great grandfather’s, and Marcheline is a tribute to her mother, the actress Marcheline Bertrand who died of cancer last year.
