Reese Witherspoon Lays Down The Law For Jake Gyllenhaal

If you live under Reese Witherspoon's roof, you abide by her rules – as Jake Gyllenhaal reportedly discovered when he moved into her LA home last month.

According to a new report, the actress runs a tight ship and expects her man to ensure that things continue to run smoothly.

“Reese believes in wide-open communication, and she discussed at length with him what is best for her household,” an insider tells Star.

“Some of (the things she insists on) are run-of-the-mill. He has to take off his shoes when he’s in the house; trash must be taken out when the can is three-quarters full; and no feet on the coffee table.”

Other guidelines are aimed at creating an appropriate environment for Reese’s kids with ex-husband Ryan Phillippe  – and that means no cussing.

“Jake used to swear like a sailor, but not anymore,” the source adds. “If he does, he has to apologize.”

Reese’s recipe for domestic bliss is also said to involve daily discussions around the dinner table about such issues as dinner, home décor and yoga sessions.

But rather than be put off by his new regimented home life, the report claims that Jake is happy to leave his bachelor days behind.

“He’d much rather stay home, make popcorn and watch a movie than step foot in a club,” says the insider.

“So when he was looking for a girlfriend, he looked for someone who was past all that — and he found her in Reese.”
