Heath Ledger's Family Pay Tribute To His Joker Performance

Heath Ledger's family have spoken of their pride after watching the tragic actor's final complete performance in new Batman movie, The Dark Knight.

Ledger's family flew to New York to attend the screening of the tragic actor's movie on Monday .

In a statement released by the family, Ledger's father says, "The Dark Knight is everything we hoped it would be and more.

"Heath loved the experience of creating this character and working on the film. We are so proud of our boy."

Ledger was found dead from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs at his New York apartment on 22 January. He was 28 years old.

The Dark Knight hits movie theatres in the U.S. on 18 July.
