Amy Winehouse has revealed the reason behind her heavy drinking and drug use comes from “boredom” and a feeling of having “nothing left to live for” since being parted from her husband Blake Fielder-Civil.

The Back To Black singer offered Rolling Stone a candid insight into her home which was littered with discarded bags of potato chips, crumpled nuggets of tinfoil, beer bottles, lingerie boxes and scattered old credit cards.

Speaking about her recent troubles, Winehouse sadly explained: "To be honest, my husband's away, I'm bored, I'm young. I felt like there was nothing to live for. It's just been a low ebb."

Her incarcerated husband Blake was jailed on charges of assault and perverting the course of justice in November 2007 and has remained in prison since.
