Jessica Simpson has hit back at rumours that her seven-month romance with Tony Romo has hit the skids, insisting she is still very much in love with the American football star.

It was widely reported last month that Romo had called time on their relationship due to the meddling influence of Simpson's father Joe – although the Dallas Cowboy went out of his way to deny the claims.

Simpson has now spoken publicly to confirm that are still together - although they have no immediate plans to follow in her sister's footsteps and head down the aisle

She says, "We have been together for seven months now. I don't know about wedding bells, but I still love him and I'm still with him."

In disappointing news for Dallas Cowboys fans, Simpson also reveals she will be back in the stands when Romo's team kick off the American football season in September.
