If you are hoping for a Gossip Girl spin-off show, you will be left disappointed - Josh Schwartz has revealed there are no plans for it.
Executives at the CW Television Network, who created the series, were reportedly planning to capitalise on the programme's success and launch a secondary show featuring one of the main characters.
The hit teen drama is based on books of the same name by Cecily von Ziegesar, and the novels were followed by a spin-off book series called It Girl.
But Gossip Girl executive producer Josh Schwartz has dismissed the rumours, insisting the TV network will not take after the author's lead.
Schwartz says: "Not sure how this got out there - but no plans for spin-off at this moment. The books do have a spin-off, but we have nothing in the works right now other than making sure Season 2 gets off to a great start."
