Sharon Stone believes the earthquakes in China are a result of bad karma following the country’s recent treatment of Tibet.

Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival in France, the actress left Chinese journalists stunned during her commentary of the natural disaster, which have left more than 67,000 people dead.

She said: "All these earthquakes and stuff happened and I thought, `Is that karma?' When you are not nice, bad things happen to you.

"I'm not happy about how the Chinese are treating the Tibetans, I don't think anyone should be unkind to anyone else.

"They're not being very nice to the Dali Lama, who's a good friend of mine."

  • I wish the Law of Karma governs our the world so that the world would be a better place for all. I want to thank Ms Stone for her support for Tibet. It is amazing that when others say bad things about China all Chinese can't tolerate but they can say lot of bad things about His Holiness the Dalai Lama. HH is being called names like "wolf in the monk's robe" or "devil in the monk's robe". Shame of Chinese!

  • Sharon needs a thorough mental checkup. If her formula is taken as true, then all hurricanes in US should also be attributed towards Bush's "bad karma" that he has adopted to crush Muslim world. Sharon should better rush to White House and preach her latest ideology to her president as well
