Scarlett Johansson Denies Diva Demands

Scarlett Johansson has hit back at reports she snubbed the premiere of Woody Allen’s latest movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona because movie bosses refused to cater to her outrageous diva demands.

The newly-engaged actress - who co-stars with Penelope Cruz in the film - was expected to attend the premiere at the Cannes International Film Festival on Saturday - but in the event was noticeably absent from the red carpet.

And Johansson was soon at the centre of rumours that movie chiefs at the French arm of Warner Bros Films - the production's distributors - denied her extravagant hospitality expectations, which allegedly included a $8,000 a day make-up artist.

But the actress has hit back at the claims, with her representative telling PageSix that she was only absent due to unavoidable "scheduling conflicts".

Ah, that old chestnut!
