Ashlee Simpson Snubs Pete Wentz

Ashlee Simpson had no idea who Pete Wentz was when he first started perusing her, prompting the Fall Out Boy bassist to send her a photo of himself to show her what he looked like.
 
The couple is rumoured to be planning their wedding this weekend after announcing an engagement last month, but Wentz feels like it was just yesterday he had to send his fiancee a photo to get her attention.

He recalls: "The first time we met... I was like, 'Yo, can you get Ashlee Simpson's email for me?' and they had to email you a picture of me."

Speaking on Los Angeles radio station 98.7FM, Simpson admitted: "I didn't know who you were!"

But after she saw the handsome rocker's picture, she was smitten: "I said, 'OK, I'll meet him,' (and) I met you."

Recalling their first date, Wentz chuckled: "The first time we really hung out she flashed me, and that was awesome... It was love at first sight."

But Simpson was reluctant to commit to a romance at first. Wentz added: "I was in the friend zone with her for a good, solid year... I'd be, like, calling her, I'd be following her around like a puppy dog."
